Ekiti Launches Innovation Grant Facility, Promises to Improve on Technical Education.

By Abiodun OLOFE Ekiti State government has again reiterated its commitment to the innovation of knowledge and development of youths in the area of digital technology.  The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji made this known in Ado -Ekiti during the launch of innovation grant facility in Ekiti state, a sub component of Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills ( IDEAS), a world bank support project .  Oyebanji said the state has, within the last quarter of this year benefited from about 300 million naira grant to improve and revamp the technical colleges in Igbara Odo , Otun and Ijero as part of government efforts to reposition technical education in Ekiti state.  He said the funds will be made available to improve schools facilities,enhance girl child education,improve learning environment and enable skills acquisition among Ekiti youth . By Oyeniyi KỌ́LÁJỌ The Special Adviser to Governor Oyebanji on Budget, Planning and Performance Management Mr. Niyi Adebayo has reiterated Governor Oyebanji administration's commitment to making sure that all Ministries and Agencies (MDAs) function and deliver on their mandate as his Ministry would provide matrix for monitoring and evaluation of all MDAs  Mr Adebayo who disclosed this while meeting with the Permanent Secretary and management staff of the ministry said, beyond projects monitoring and evaluation, the Ministry will also embark on social impact assessment of all government projects on the people of Ekiti which according to him is more critical to the present government. The Special Adviser then solicited the support of the staff of the ministry as he was willing to learn and understand the workings of the ministry. ‘for me it's about us working together and trying to deliver the mandate that we have been given in the service of the people of the state’.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Science and Technology Dr Kofoworola Aderiye disclosed this at the presentation of scholarship cash award to 12 secondary school students in her office in Ado Ekiti. Dr Aderiye, who was represented by the Executive Secretary, Ekiti State Scholarship Board, Mrs Bosede Jegede emphasized the commitment of the state government at sustaining the cliche already carved for Ekiti in the area of education worldwide.
