EKSG reiterates commitment towards cultural promotion

By Olajide ADEBAYO The Government of Ekiti State has reaffirmed it's commitment towards the development of cultural heritage. The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Art Culture and Tourism, Mr Aderemi Dele Ogunsemoyin, emphasized on anticipation towards cultural promotion by the state government during the celebration of OLOKUN festival in Erijiyan-Ekiti, held at the king's palace. The PS represented by the Director of culture, Mr. Abdul Babalola, explained the position and effort of the Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji led administration to the entire inhabitants of the community, as regards to the cultural development across the State. Also said, as a team, representating Ekiti state government in this event, our aim is to corroborate the people of the town to promote their festival even across the globe. Even said, the government of Abayomi Oyebanji is on his efforts to protect all the Tourist locations and promote any cultural activity being shown case by any community.

NERC Approves Licenses for Ekiti IPP to generate and distribute Electricity

By Yetunde OGUNRINDE The National Electricity Regulatory Commission(NERC) has granted the Embedded Generation Licence to the Ekiti Independent Power Project (IPP) Ltd, situated in the state capital, Ado Ekiti. The commission has also granted Independent Electricity Distribution License to Olokiti Power Distribution Ltd, also in Ado Ekiti. The Special Adviser (SA) to the State Governor on Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Professor Mobolaji Aluko made this known while featuring on a live current affairs television programme on the State Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES) "Daybreak Nigeria" to review the state of utilities in Ekiti. Raphael Oluwafemi OSEGBOUN on Monday, paid a courtesy visit the Pioneer  Vice Chancellor of the newly established Venite University: Very Rev. Fr. By Abiodun OLOFE Ekiti State Government Coordinated  Unified Promotion  Examinations for Senior Secondary class 2 (SS2) in all the public and private schools in the state for 2022/23 academic session has been described as a training ground to fortify students going to the certificate class in their preparation for external examinations. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Science and Technology, Dr Kofoworola Aderiye stated this in Ado Grammar School, Ado  Ekiti at the monitoring exercise of some public and private secondary schools in the state capital. Aderiye, who explained that unified examination was also designed to produce the best candidates to sit for school certificate examinations that would be paid for by Ekiti State government, commended the organisers for a hitch free, seamless and standard examination. State Government Increases Workers Minimum Wage To N40,000, Unveils Palliatives

Governor Hope Uzodimma has approved a new minimum wage for workers in Imo State to N40,000. The move is geared towards cushioning the biting effects of the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government. Uzodimma, in his address to the State Executives Council and other key stakeholders in the State in Owerri, Saturday said the removal of fuel subsidy is biting hard on the people of the State. He announced palliatives such as review of workers salary structure, free daily meal, free medical treatment for all workers in the State and provision of more free buses for workers. According to him, genuine farmers in the State, will also be granted a soft of N5 billion naira and be provided with seedlings and farm tools to boost their work.
