Ekiti CARES for MSEs to begin another business targeting and verification

The Ekiti Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus for micro and small enterprises will next week begin another round of targeting and verification of businesses that will benefit from the second tranche of the scheme.

In a statement made available to the newsmen in Ado Ekiti by the Director General, Micro Finance and Enterprises Development Agency (MEDA), Otunba Kayode Fasae said the Team of EK-CARES Result Area 3 saddled with the responsibility of facilitating recovery and enhancing capabilities of micro and small enterprises that were badly affected by Covid-19 will be going round the state for the exercise starting from October.

While advising the business owners to make themselves available for the exercise, Fasae said the grant is in 3 categories which is DLI 3.1 Credit grant, DLI 3.2 Operational Grant and DLI 3.3 IT enhancement grant.

He added that the scheme is part of the deliberate effort of Governor Fayemi’s administration to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and support micro and small-scale enterprises as means of stimulating the economic growth in post Covid era, adding
that more than 860 businesses will benefit from this World Bank assisted intervention.

In her comments, the Technical Head EK-CARES RA3 Mrs Bukola Olorunyomi hinted that Governor Kayode Fayemi will on Thursday 6th October, 2022 perform the flag-off and distribution of cheques for first tranche to the beneficiaries.     

While appreciating Governor Kayode Fayemi for his effort at making the lives of the people more meaningful, Olorunyomi said all the beneficiaries must make themselves available for the flag-off ceremony slated to hold at Lady Jibowu hall, Government House in Ado Ekiti at 12:00pm.
