The Oloye of Oye-Ekiti, Oba  Oluwole Ademolaju has  advised the in-coming First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji not to deviate from the gender-based activities embarked on by the wife of the governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi when she eventually takes over.

Oba Ademolaju gave the advice at a chat with newsmen from the Ministry of Information and Values Orientation in his palace in Oye Ekiti.

The monarch said that the Erelu Fayemi's outstanding performance at curtailing gender-based violence, child abuse, rape and other related offences has elevated her to a global personality.

The traditional ruler, who is a one time Chairman of Ekiti State Traditional Council of Obas, noted that Erelu Fayemi has instilled fear in the minds of men who are delighted in exposing their wives to domestic violence, while peace has been restored into many homes.

According to the monarch, "the fear of Erelu is the beginning of wisdom in various Ekiti homes where violence used to be prevalence."

He said that the first lady has successfully created awareness amongst the male folks on the perception of their wives and girl-child, with a call on Dr Oyebanji to build on the solid foundation already laid.

Commenting on the performance of the outgoing government, Oba Ademolaju scored it high in the areas of infrastructures development, social security and citizens empowerment, agricultural transformation and tourism development, calling on the awaiting government to focus more on road construction and rehabilitation to link the state with its neighbours.

The traditional ruler opined that the construction of cargo airport in the state by the present administration will jump-start agro-based,  small and medium scale enterprises for a virile economic growth of the state.

While calling on the people of the state to continue to support the government, Oba Ademolaju urged them to eschew violence and pray for the unity of the country

He called on the Federal Government to give room for state police to compliment the existing security apparatus, stressing that federal government alone can no longer provide the needed protection of lives and property of the people of the country.
