LOOK INWARD FOR ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY: Ekiti born Industrialist charges EKSG

An Industrialist, Engineer Foluso Alaba has charged the government of Ekiti State to shift it's focus from the monthly allocation coming from the federation account and tap into the numerous natural potentials dotted across the nooks and crannies of the state for economic growth.

Alaba, a chemical engineer from Ikere Ekiti, gave the charge in his office in Ikere during an interview with journalists from the Ministry of Information and Values Orientation. 

The philanthropist admonished the new administration in the state to embark on investment drive beyond the shores of the country, stressed that rocks, natural and other mineral resources in the state are enough endowment of God to generate money that could take the state out of poverty if well harnessed.

The Industrialist, who is a graduate of Chemical Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt said that government should control the activities of illegal miners to block loopholes where huge revenue of government ended up in the pockets of individuals.

He called on both the federal and state governments to put up strong mechanism that would help in ease of doing business for potential investors, saying that unfavourable electricity supply and cost of alternative sources of power in the country are anti productive to industrial development.

Alaba reiterated that government must be proactive in the areas of good road network, working policy on electricity, fraudsters and foreign exchange instability to boost local/ Nigeria contents and as well assemble people with technical know-how that would lead to industrial revolution.

The Ikere Ekiti born engineer advised Ekiti youth to cultivate the habit of upholding the the Ekiti values at creating wealth instead of venturing into cyber crimes and politics.

He, however opined that the country would survive it's current challenges if the leadership is focused, determined with the political will to bring about the needed change.
