The Ekiti State Head of Service Barrister Bamidele Agbede has said not
fewer than 15,473 public servants have benefited from both local and
international training during the outgoing administration led by Dr
Kayode Fayemi.
Agbede made this known during the opening ceremony of a 3-day capacity
building organised for the staff of Ekiti State Primary Health Care
Development Agency in Ado Ekiti recently.
He stressed that one of the hallmarks of the outgoing administration
is the recognition of human capital development which has paved way
for improved productivity and efficient service delivery in the public
service.
He recalled that some public servants who were recently sponsored by
the State government on post graduate courses at the Ekiti State
University have graduated. He commended the efforts of the Executive
Secretary of the Agency for his pro-activeness in organizing the
capacity building despite the paucity of fund. He charged participants
to maximize the opportunity of the training and avoid actions that
could sabotage the efforts of the government in ensuring that Ekiti
state civil service meets the global standard.
Speaking earlier, Executive Secretary of the Agency Dr Ayodele Seluwa
said 250 SPHC staff have been carefully selected across the 16LGAs to
enhance their efficiency while discharging their administrative
responsibilities in their various offices. He said the training became
necessary to familiarize the SPHC workers with public service rules
because there has not been a capacity building of such since the
devolution of SPHC workers to the State Primary Health Care
Development Agency.
The Permanent Secretary,Office and Establishment and Service Matters
Mr Bayo Opeyemi who was the Resource Person at the training took the
participants through the focus of the training, Overview of Ekiti
state Public Service Rules and Ethics.
Some of the participants at the training thanked the government of
Ekiti state for the workshop and promised to maximize the knowledge
grained at the training to improve their productivity and efficient
service delivery in the Primary Health Care Development Agency of
Ekiti State.
