EKITI NYCN LAUNCHED QUIZ COMPETITION FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS STUDENTS TO PROMOTE EDUCATION, DEDICATED IT TO GOVEENOR BIODUN ABAYOMI FOR HIS LOVE FOR EKITI YOUTHS

The Leadership of National Youth Council of
Nigeria NYCN Ekiti State Chapter through the Council's Directorate for
Education and Training on Monday launched the maiden edition of their
proposed Annual Quiz Competition for the Secondary Schools in Ekiti State.
The event, which was dedicated to Governor
Biodun Abayomi OYEBANJI for his love for Ekiti Youths had in attendance Public
Secondary Schools, Mission Schools and Private Secondary Schools.
In his address, the State Chairman of the
Youth Council in Ekiti State: Amb. James Oluwasegun Bankole appreciated
Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and the members of his cabinet for the love
they have for Ekiti Youths.
He reiterated that the Youth Council in Ekiti shall
continue partnering with the State Government to achieve the proposed plans of
the State Government for Ekiti Youths.
He emphasized the importance of improving
social engagements for students, keeping them updated with the happenings in
their immediate society.
Mr. Bamisaye Roy Adedamola B.R.A, the NYCN
Director of Education and Training, reiterated the council's unwavering
commitment to the education sector, recognizing it as the bedrock of youth
development. He further assured schools in Ekiti of better days ahead,
highlighting that the council had devised numerous programs aimed at
identifying special students and nurturing the best in Ekiti students.
At the end of the Competition, Fountain
International High School came first Position with a total of 51 points.
Knowledge is Power International High School came Sencond Position with 42
points, Christ School Ado Ekiti secured 41 points to claim the Third Position.
Divine School scored a total of 35 points, and Ekiti Anglican Diocesan High
School with 25 points.
The Secretary to the Education and Training
Committee: Comrade Oladokun Boluwatife appreciated the Schools that
participated in the competition. He acknowledged the brilliance and talent
exhibited by all participating students at the current affairs-based quiz.
Comrade Oladokun appealed for cooperation
from schools and other institutions in Ekiti, emphasizing the collective effort
required to achieve academic excellence for Ekiti students.
The NYCN Ekiti Chapter Quiz Competition
served as a platform to showcase the intellectual prowess of students while
promoting educational development in the State. With the council's continued
dedication to nurturing talent and implementing programs for student
advancement, Ekiti State is poised for a bright future in academic excellence.
