ST. IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA CATHOLIC CHURCH, IBADAN INAUGURATES M.O.D COUNCIL, AS THE SECURITY OUTFIT FOR THE PARISH

As part of the measures put in place to secure the Church, the Blessed Sacrament and the Parishioners, the Parish Priest of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, Aromolaran, Ibadan, Rev. Monsignor J. K. Idowu has approved and inspected the official inauguration of the Officer and Ladies of Men of Order & Discipline (M.O.D) Council as well as their Patron Council in the Parish. 

The Official Inauguration, held on Sunday 25th February, 2024 was attended by Lagos and Ibadan Provincial Officers of the Council led by the Chairman of Ekiti Diocesan M.O.D Council, Captain Peter Odunayo Idowu. 
Addressing the Officers after at the inaugural Mass, Rev. Monsignor J. k Idowu appreciated the efforts made by the representatives of the MOD Council in the Province with special regards to Ekiti Diocesan MOD Chairman, the representatives from Oyo Diocese and the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos. He commended the efforts of those behind the training of the newly inaugurated Officers and appreciated the Officers for the sacrifices they have made. 

Monsignor J. K Idowu lauded the unflinching support of the Parishioners since the beginning of the project till the point of the Official inauguration. He encouraged the Officers to make positive use of the skills and other things they have learnt during the training for the better glory of God and the sanctification of mankind. 
Reiterating the fact that there are blessings attached to willingness to make sacrifices to God, the homilist charged the new Officers with an illustration of Abraham who was faithful to the promise(s) he made with God. 

The homilist connected the calling of Abraham to make Isaac a sacrifice to God with the calling of Officers of Men and Ladies of M. O. D Council, to make sacrifices by protecting the lives of the Parishioners and the properties of the Church. “To serve God is to be ready to give up one’s life, talent, most valuable treasure and time to God. Monsignor J. K. Idowu added. 
Commenting, The Head of the Provincial Delegation who doubles as the Chairman of the M.O.D Council in Ekiti Diocese, Captain Peter Odunayo Idowu expressed his joy for the journey so far. He thanked God for how far He has led them to achieve the project. 

Captain Peter Idowu appreciated the efforts and the support of the Parish Priest of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, Ibadan, Rev. Monsignor J.K. Idowu, who by the virtue of his inauguration became the First Chaplain of M.O.D Council in the Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan.  He appreciated the Patron Council and the members for their doggedness. 

He commended the efforts and the presence of Captain Pascal Onyebuchukwu and other Officers from the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos. He lauded the commitment and the doggedness of the Officer of Ekiti Diocesan M.O.D Council present at the event, and the Officer from Saki, Oyo Diocese. “To the newly inaugurated officers, I encourage you to give in your best in other to encourage our gallant Chaplain who has given his backing and made several effort that led to the success of this inauguration ceremony” Captain Idowu added. 

M.O.D  Smart A. was appointed the Chief Patron and M.O.D Okeleke as the commander of the newly inaugurated St. Loyola Parish with the Parish code is MOD/019/001
